Not sure that is going on. I have that shared library as shown below. I ran the ap-get manager and picked up the -dev in addition to libsqlite3. Even tried build-essential (it was already installed). Tried apt-get update. IANE on linux. Boinc and the boinc apps are running, but I cant get boincmgr up. I did ldconfig. I am out of ideas.

Hmm - I downloaded the 32bit version of boinc. Hmm - this is not the first time I have done this, you think I would remember and not have to have run strace to discover the 32bit library problem.

So the boinc installer is not idiot proof and I can load it into a box it cannot run in.

anyway 6.10.43 it is working and

...MY BAD!!!

I think, that a architecture check in the self extracting script could help to print out a warning message. - I will write a mail to the BOINC developers mailinglist...

But, eventually a automatic upgrade tool in Dotsch/UX could help. Simliar like the apt-get via synaptics. - For example the script checks the website for the available versions, asks the user about the newest version, and stops BOINC, installs the BOINC client and starts BOINC again.
