Is there a .conf file someplace that I can edit/change/modify so that my USB stick based Dotsch/UX system will boot straight thru the "live CD" menu to start and run w/o having to answer the language question and selecting the "Try Ubuntu..." option? My concern is if there's a short power interruption the machinne is set to re-boot but I am thinking it will hang at that prompt.

There is a timeout of 30 second by default before the system boot autmaticly with the default options (english language and keyboard, squash theme and no debug info).
